Homemade Spa Parties are extremely popular.  I love having my friends over and it’s great because we can spend time chatting, and we also get to relax and just unwind.

Homemade Spa PartyIt isn’t uncommon to hear about people having spa parties at home because it’s fun, inexpensive and rewarding all rolled in to one. You too can plan your own homemade spa party by gathering certain items, materials and at home spa recipes. Not to mention, people! You can find many of the items in your own kitchen or thrift stores are a great place to look and will cost much less than those at a retail store. It is only fair that you are allowed to be pampered once in a great while and who doesn’t want to feel relaxed and refreshed?

How to Throw a Homemade Spa Party – Here is How I do it!

The items will vary depending on what you have planned for your homemade spa party so the following is simply a guideline. Common items used at a spa party include:

  • plastic bowls for hands/feet,
  • hand towels or washcloths (attractively stacked in a basket if possible),
  • clothes basket for used cloths and towels,
  • cotton balls, nail polish,
  • inexpensive plastic or elastic headbands (for facial treatments),
  • pitchers
  • nail and/or foot files,
  • pumice stone
  • relaxing music.

Now you also want to have the ingredients on hand should you plan to demonstrate homemade spa treatments otherwise you need to have hand/foot soaks, facial cleanser, eye masks, etc. All the necessary ingredients to have a successful spa party.

Having some kind of ‘plan’ for your homemade spa party will make things go smoothly and you will appear to be a professional, whether it is your first or fifth spa party. Have all the materials and items in an orderly fashion readily available for each person at the party. This means have a bowl for soaking hands/feet at each place setting, towels between each seat, etc. I generally also use a basket containing nail files, polish etc. that can be passed around to each person. If you plan to demonstrate homemade spa recipes, set up a table holding all the necessary items and ingredients, but have some ready for use that your guests can use while you demonstrate. You don’t want to hold up the party while demonstrating…I’ve been there before! :)

Homemade Spa PartyProviding information on what people used in terms of spa products and samples is very helpful in terms of why you chose the treatments you chose and the benefits they provide. This will encourage your guests to come again should you have another party and will help them better understand what will work for their skin type etc. So doing your homework before having a homemade spa party is highly beneficial.  It doesn’t have to be super fancy, but I have found that having some basic information goes a long way.

You could even create little note cards for each of your at home spa recipes for the guests to take home after the party. Even if they make their own they are sure to come back for another party. Have a variety of nail polish colors on hand and if you do not have a large assortment of your own, encourage your guests to bring their own favorite polish. Some prefer this so it is not an outrageous suggestion.

Choose your favorite relaxing music suitable for a spa party that all your guests can enjoy. Keep the volume low but audible so when the treatments are setting, soaking, etc, the atmosphere will be that of an actual spa. I have used classical music, new age type music, instrumental music, and even jazz music.  One, and make sure of this one important thing:  HAVE FUN!  Your homemade spa party is sure to be a success no matter how you do it as long as you remember to have fun!

Did you know that there is no need to spend your hard earned money on spa treatments in order to pamper yourself when you can learn how to make homemade spa products with at home spa recipes. I’ve found that many recipes use ingredients you may even already have in your kitchen and that alone helps you save money. You can achieve the same results you would from going to a spa by making your own spa recipes at home. Quick makeovers can leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and let’s face it, who doesn’t want that?!

At Home Spa Recipes

Homemade Eye TreatmentsYour eyes are said to be the window to your soul. After all, the eyes are typically what a person focuses on when having a conversation with someone. Unfortunately, the eyes are also what makes some of us appear to be older than we really are. That said here are some great at home spa recipes that will bring life back to your eyes and can shave years off of your appearance. Thinly slice a cucumber and place a slice over each eye. Leave on for up to twenty minutes or less if you are short on time.

Another thing I have found that is great for puffy eyes is Tea.  Tea is a great way to reduce puffy eyes. Just place a damp tea bag over your eyes for as long as you can. Its been my experience that if you combine those with a good night’s sleep and your eyes will feel much better in the morning.

I also love getting facials, and facials are a popular spa treatment many people enjoy. There are so many different at home spa recipes concerning facials but a very common treatment involves the combination of oatmeal and honey.  This facial recipe is great for naturally oily or acne-prone skin and works wonders as a mild exfoliate. For this recipe you will need half a cup of oatmeal, two tbsp of honey and a quarter cup buttermilk or plain yogurt. Grind the oatmeal until it is very fine. In a separate bowl mix the yogurt and honey together. Slowly add the oatmeal, mixing together until the consistency is smooth. Apply to your face and neck. Leave it on for twenty minutes then rinse with warm water. Use daily or how often you like.

Our feet take most of our body’s daily abuse, especially for those of us who seem to be on our feet more often than not. The spa can offer wonderful relaxing foot treatments but now you can have the same experience in the comfort of your own home. This at home spa recipe is for the feet and is to be left on overnight so a clean pair of cotton socks are also needed. Grind a quarter cup of almonds and a quarter cup of dry oatmeal.  Combine almonds and oatmeal with three tbsp cocoa butter (food grade) and two tbsp of honey. Apply the mixture on your clean feet, rubbing in really good. Put on your clean cotton socks and do not remove until the next morning. Rinse your feet in cold water and you now have moisturized, refreshed feet. You’ll never want to visit the spa again once you see how easy and inexpensive it is to treat yourself at home.

These are just a few of the recipes I use from the Hand Crafters Companion eBook. There are dozens of recipes and if you are looking for at home spa recipes than this is the best recipe book I have found!

I hope to hear from you about what your favorite recipes were!

I’ve always found that a visit to the spa is a way to relieve the stresses of life or to simply be pampered for a few hours if not an entire day.  It’s something I always look forward to…. “me time”  …that helps me just to take some time for myself and forget about the daily grind of life.

Unfortunately going to the spa can be expensive, and not everyone has a lot of of money to simply spend as they wish, so for many people a spa visit becomes a ‘treat’ for most. Luckily you can avoid the hassle and costs involved in a visit the spa. How?

Pedicure at HomeDo what I do!  By bringing the spa to your own home! You can quickly learn how to make homemade spa products and homemade skin care products to enjoy whenever you like in the comfort of your own home on your own time. While the environment may not be the same as it would be at an actual spa facility, it doesn’t mean you cannot reap the same benefits as you would with an actual spa visit…plus, you get to save a lot of money (something everyone is trying to do now days).

You will also spend a lot less money buying just a few ingredients, depending on the spa product you decide to make and enjoy. Many of the items that you need to make homemade spa products you may probably already have in your kitchen. Let’s discuss how to make homemade spa products that you can pick and choose to suit your needs best.

How to Make Homemade Spa Products

Body scrubs are a wonderful treat to the skin that can make your skin silky smooth and oh so radiant. Some body scrubs that are sold at stores can be a tad pricey and those that are affordable do not always provide the best results. This is even more true for those who have sensitive skin. Many spa products designed for sensitive skin can be very expensive but not anymore, now that you can make your own.

You can make body scrubs using salt, sugar (white or brown), coffee and even oatmeal.

Boxy scrubs are used as an exfoliate to remove dead skin cells leaving silky smooth skin. Simply mix your base, salt or sugar, with an essential oil of your aroma choice. Start with a couple teaspoons until the body scrub has your desired consistency. Store in a container such as a jar. It’s that easy and is why anyone can learn how to make homemade spa products.  After I use these on my skin I normally get compliments from a few people…yes, it even makes me blush!

You might also wish to learn how to make homemade spa products that are similar to body scrubs, such as bath oil. You can create your own luxurious bath oil with your all-time favorite scent. Bath oils can nourish and moisten the skin while leaving you feeling completely relaxed at the same time. Homemade bath oils are less likely to leave you with that oily skin residue unlike some store bought oils, that seems to stay no matter how hard you try to completely remove it. Making your own bath oil is really easy.

Here’s how I do it:

First you want to choose your base oil. Castor oil is a wonderful base as it disperses in water better but a light base would work too such as sunflower or almond oil. Next you need to choose your favorite essential oil. Take a glass jar or bottle and pour the base oil inside. Add up to twenty drops of the essential oil to the base. Now cover and mix well by shaking. When it’s time to enjoy your homemade bath oil add a tsp to your water and mix with your hands. This oil should store up to two weeks but if you do not plan to use it all before that time, consider making smaller amounts at a time so as not to waste any.

These are just a few of the recipes and things I do when making homemade spa products.  If you want to know how to make homemade spa products that are quick, simple, and easy to make click here. You will learn about the Home Crafter’s Companion Guide, which is the #1 eBook I recommend on how to make homemade spa products.  Its what I use almost every time I make homemade spa products myself.
